When you think about it, Anna Wintour really just wants what everyone else wants: some after-work solitude. And after a hard day of ruling the world as we know it, is it too much to ask for a little piece and quiet when you come back home from the office?
Word has it that the Vogue editor-in-chief has already warned restaurateur Serge Becker to keep the noise down at the Jamaican-inspired eatery he’s planning to build near her Greenwich Village home. Becker, who co-owns La Esquina in New York City, has gotten noise complaints before. The New York Post reports that earlier this month, the fracas at La Esquina ruffled the feathers of Barnard professor Georgette Fleischer, who lives nearby.
Accordingly, a representative from Vogue told the Post, “It’s not just Anna Wintour who has voiced concerns, but in fact many people in the neighborhood.”
We wish Becker and his new venture the best – we actually live just a short jaunt away, and might get dinner there one night. But we hope for his sake and for his restaurant’s, he’ll keep the noise down.
