If you’re wondering what on earth she’s talking about, well, you’re not alone. We didn’t spot any sort of wardrobe malfunction with Anne Hathaway‘s Burberry dress at the BAFTAs Sunday night, but she told Jay Leno last night that there was indeed a slight snafu before hitting up the red carpet.
Hathaway, who looked great despite her flu in a coral frock and black pumps, told the late night host that as she was putting on her custom-made dress by an unnamed designer (“a fairy tale moment”), the zipper broke. Her stylist freaked out and ran away, so Hathaway had her hairstylist attempt to sew her into it. Unfortunately, the end result looked like “a turkey that has been sewn together” — but, as luck would have it, Hathaway had a back-up dress: the Burberry she ended up wearing. The wardrobe malfunction caused her to be so late to the red carpet that fans booed her along the way. Well, you just can’t win ’em all, right? Watch it below:
In the second half of Hathaway’s interview, the Les Mis star talks about her mom being the understudy to Fantine in the first national tour of the Broadway musical, and spending Valentine’s Day dancing with One Billion Rising, a dance movement that helps raise awareness of violence against women.
