The April covers are pouring in, and while some are great (Michelle Obama, anyone?) others have us confused.
Case in point: Miranda Kerr‘s Vogue Australia cover shoot, photographed by Miguel Reveriego. Naturally, Kerr looks every bit her bombshell self in the images, but the lip-touch, foot-grab pose was a bizarre choice, and there is something decidedly missing from one of the inside shots. Yes, the Victoria’s Secret model seems to have lost part of her shoulder during some overzealous Photoshopping around her pale pink Prada coat.
And while W‘s cover stars appear to have all their limbs intact, the pose does give us pause. Brit Marling looks either thoroughly displeased or very happy indeed to be in the clutches of Eddie Redmayne, and a peek inside the issue reveals other shots that would have been more natural, newsstand-friendly picks. Also, why leave the very photogenic Emayatzy Corinealdi out of the cover shot when she pops up as the third member of the Alasdair McLellan-lensed spread? Hmm.
The Vogue Paris cover may be the most confounding of all, however. Why oh why did they choose those earrings? There are many, many things going on from the neck up on Isabeli Fontana in this photo….and none of them good. Finally, we’re feeling some Sky Ferreira ennui coming on, and we’re not sure Diane Kruger‘s gorgeous alternative cover for Interview Germany quite makes up for it.
What about you? Do you think the covers deserve our ire, or are we just being nitpicky?

this is some kind of spaceship or something.
