Aubrey Plaza’s “Whole Face is a Beauty Disaster”

Aubrey Plaza is full of lies. For the latest issue of Canada’s Glow magazine, on which she is fittingly luminous on both the cover and in an accompanying spread, the Parks and Recreation star and one of our favorite funny people ever dishes on her beauty routine (or lack thereof) and blogroll.

“I’m totally unqualified to talk about anything fashion or beauty related, so let’s do this!” she prefaces with lie #1. She also claims that her “whole face is a beauty disaster,” while making an excellent case for heavy application of bottom-lash mascara. But while her Glow look was likely the result of professional makeup artistry, Plaza isn’t entirely incompetent when it comes to an actual beauty routine. She reads her friend’s blog MajoNYC “all the time” — “the taste level is right up my alley” — and agrees that ’80s eyeshadow should probably be a past memory.

In the four-page spread Plaza is her usual sassy, smoldering self, but this time in pastel tones, starchy collars and delicate jewelry. We’re still kind of annoyed that she hasn’t updated her own blog — the truly phenomenal Salty Sea Hags — since 2006, but evidently reading about Moroccanoil Curl Defining Cream is doin’ her good.
