Baptiste Giabiconi Considering LA Move For ‘Girlfriend’ Katy Perry

It’s an age-old tale: California Gurl meets French heartthrob. The pair share a front row seat at Chanel. Sparks (sorry, Fireworks) fly. They canoodle aboard a Eurostar and dance the night away in Paris. He moves to Los Angeles to focus “on his music career” (because nothing comes close to the golden coast, haven’t you heard?) and they madly in love, living happily ever after.

We’re talking, of course, about the burgeoning are-they-or-aren’t-they romance between pop star Katy Perry and male model Baptiste Giabiconi, who have been spotted together on a number of occasions since the singer finalized her divorce from actor and comedian Russell Brand earlier this year. The latest gossip comes from Page Six, who reports that Giabiconi, is considering a move to L.A. to pursue his secondary career as a 90s-era crooner and, it would seem, to be closer to his blue-haired lady love.

In an oddly prescient interview for Dansk magazine last year, Giabiconi, who is the highest paid male model in the world and the current face of Chanel, Fendi, and Dior Homme, claimed he would marry Perry if she ever divorced her then-husband. “I like what she radiates,” the 22-year-old model told the magazine. “She has spirit and she doesn’t come across forced. And I also think she’s hot. If I could make her divorce her husband, I’d marry her.”

Guess sometimes (teenage) dreams do come true, eh?

For now, his rep claims, “it’s new, they’re feeling it out, but they’re spending a lot of time together.” In light of her recent divorce, he adds, “when it comes to having a real-hot man to escort her around, you can’t go wrong with Baptiste Giabiconi,” No argument there, though the rep’s eagerness to proffer these personal tidbits suggests to us that their romance may be somewhat less than genuine. Let’s wait and see if a well-timed duet is soon to come.

So, what do you think: is this the real deal, or a just a highly calculated publicity stunt?
