Lessons From The Red Carpet: Two Ways To Not Look ‘Blah’ In Beige

Considering that the night was a celebration of Italian fashion and that Sophia Loren was in the house, it’s no surprise that so many women brought their style A-game to Giorgio Armani’s ‘One Night Only Roma’ event.

Two style savants turned up in the season’s sometimes-tricky neutral, beige, and rocked the hue in totally different, but equally intriguing ways. DJ Mia Moretti gave us Gatsby vibes with gold-embroidered detail, a vintage-inspired box bag, and roaring silver shoes to dress up her pinkish take on the shade. Meanwhile, Former Olympian Fiona May showed off her fit physique in matching beige separates: super slim, cropped pants, and a very open vest. One delivers retro charm and the other a kick-in-the-pants sexy CEO style.

Other noteworthy styles opted for less subdued colors, like Milla Jovovich, who brought the Armani Privé Spring 2013 collection to life in a slinky orange dress with some major futuristic vibes, while Berenice Bejo donned a shimmering black-and-white bodice paired with a black skirt from the designer’s spring show. A slew of Italian actresses — Ilaria Spada, Claudia Pandolfi, and Alba Rohrwacher — offered up chic minimalism using stark white separates.
