Say what you will about rumors, a good number of them turn out to be true. Case in point: Beyoncé‘s H&M ad!
Earlier in January, one of B’s backup dancers tweeted that she was in the Bahamas, and paparazzi snapped pics of the singer and daughter Blue Ivy on what looked like a photoshoot on the beach. Of course, Bey and H&M’s camps remained mum, but what do we have now? Beyoncé‘s new H&M ad campaign.
The superstar is set to appear in television commercials, and on print ads and billboards. For the print and outdoor ads, B’s name will be written as “Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M”, a nod to her upcoming world
domination tour. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin photographed Bey for the print ads (see one of ’em below), and the Jonas Åkerlund-directed commercial features a new song called “Standing on the Sun.” She said in a release: “It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial.”
As for the clothes themselves, head of design at H&M Ann-Sofie Johansson said that the collection stems from B’s personal style, so expect body con dresses, high-waisted shorts, and sleeveless shirts.
The summer collection will hit stores in May, but in the meantime, bow down to Beyoncé:
