Whereas we here at Styleite have no doubt that Jay-Z and Beyonce‘s unborn child is going to have the most spectacular life ever, its father is a little worried that he might fudge the whole parenting thing — even though he plans on giving this kid every luxury and opportunity money can buy.
Jay-Z told People at the GQ Men of the Year party this week that he doesn’t want to make the same mistakes his father made raising him and his brothers and sisters. Those who have listened to Jay-Z’ music may recall that his father walked out on his family when he was very young, and the experience has him thinking about what his child’s life will be like.
“It makes me a little paranoid because no matter what, I don’t think any person, or any male, goes into a relationship thinking that they’re going to leave or wouldn’t be there,” he told People. “I think the circumstances a lot of times dictates things, right?”
Granted, Beyonce and Jay-Z’s child will have vastly different circumstances than, well, anyone else — the couple topped the list of Forbes‘ Top-Earning Hollywood Couples in 2009, pulling in a combined $122 million. (FYI, they also topped the list in 2008, with $165 million.) Which is why when People asked if the baby’s diapers would be made of gold, and Jay-Z joked, “No. Leather!” it didn’t strike us as a totally ridiculous idea.
