Let it hereby be said: if you’re going to co-host an event with someone, you should always coordinate outfits — and if you need inspiration, look no further than sartorial dynamos Chris Benz and Brad Goreski, who hosted Thursday night’s Art Rocks fundraiser in matching pink and red ensembles. Yep, on purpose. Love it.
The pair spoke (and we quote) “like, a hundred times a day” leading up to the event and eventually settled on pink as their color. “I was like, ‘I got this Comme des Garcons jacket at the sale,'” Benz told us at the Bowery Hotel Thursday night. “And then Brad was like, ‘Oh that’s perfect I’ve got this Jil Sander suit that’s pink, so let’s go with that theme.'” Benz even dyed his hair to match.
Stylist-cum-reality star Goreski agreed that matching outfits was a no-brainer. “When we decided that we were going to host together, we knew we had to come up with a fully realized look,” Or, in patented Brad parlance, lewk.
Hosting the event, proceeds of which are donated to the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia University Hospital, was even more of a no-brainer. Brad “said yes right away” and Benz cites their friendship as the reason he signed on. “I’m good friends with [founder] Nicole Berrie and Brad,” Benz explained. “And they were like, ‘We’re doing this amazing event. Do you want to be involved?’ and I was like, ‘Obviously! Fine. Done deal.”
As for Goreski’s eponymous show, which he filmed equal parts in Los Angeles and New York, he was a little less forthcoming. “I’m tight-lipped,” he told us apologetically. “But I can tell you that I’m really, really excited about what we filmed.”
So are we, Brad. So are we.
Photos of the pair are below. Who do you think werked their lewk best?
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
