Back in February, we were totally charmed and enthralled by the short animated film Cadaver voiced by Tavi Gevinson, Kathy Bates, and Christopher Lloyd. And that’s why we are so excited to hear that it’s been longlisted for an Oscar.
The Jonah D. Ansell-produced animated short chronicles a cadaver brought back to life, but only to have his heart broken by his surviving wife. Gevinson narrates a poem throughout the film, and sings a rendition of Neil Young‘s “Heart of Gold”. Skwigly reports that Cadaver, along with many others, has been sent to the Academy to be considered a nominee in the Best Animated Short category. After two voting periods, the five will be announced as the final nominees for the category, and the winner will obviously be crowned in February.
