The magazine’s name has been under wraps for a while, but Roitfeld finally revealed that it will be called CR Fashion Book, or CR for short. This apparently references the signature in her Vogue Paris editor’s letters, which is actually pretty lame. Come on, Carine — stop being lazy! But we’ll let it slide, since the rest of the magazine sounds super cool.
For starters, it will be published by Fashion Media Group, which also publishes Visionaire, V Magazine, and VMan. This means we should expect cool photography and collectible issues, like this and this. Instead of mixing front-of-book content with editorial spreads, the mag will only feature spreads and longer-format articles, while the website will house all front-of-book content. Some of the shoots will be styled by Roitfeld herself, which we assume will translate into lots of nakedness.
Most interestingly, CR‘s articles will be published in the native language of their authors with English translations in the back of the magazine. The mockup Roitfeld showed WWD included pieces written in Arabic, Russian, and Japanese.
If you were hoping to snag a copy of Roitfeld’s glossy, which will be sold for $9.95 beginning in September, it might harder than you think. Only 50,000 copies will be printed, half of which will be distributed in Europe and the other half will be split among U.S. and Asia. Someone tell us how we can pre-order our copies!
In the meantime, check out a sneak peek of the mag below:
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
