If you thought Carine Roitfeld was only going to edit women’s magazines and advertisements, think again. The former Vogue Paris editrix guest edited the next issue of V Man, which should be at a newsstand near you just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Women’s Wear Daily reports that although Roitfeld says this is the first (and probably last) time she’ll do the men’s fashion editor thing, she applied the same practiced hand in casting her issue of the magazine that she uses when she’s doing work for Chanel or another publication. Roitfeld picked French actor Tahar Rahim for the cover, then filled the inside of the magazine with everyone from Chord Overstreet of Glee to the bullfighter José María Manzanares.
But the core of the issue is a collection of men Roitfeld calls “real people.” In addition to the celebs, there will also be chefs, architects and even a fireman posing for pictures as though they were male models. Roitfeld told WWD that she didn’t want to use models because “I like men trendy, but not fashion victims … When you work with real people, you can’t impose something.”
And with casting like this, who would want to impose anything? Take a look at a few of the guys who will be in Roitfeld’s next issue below.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
