Remember a few months ago when photos surfaced of Carla Bruni talking to Owen Wilson and Woody Allen on a film set? The movie they were working on, Midnight in Paris, is opening the Cannes Film Festival this year, which means the First Lady of France could put in a red carpet appearance.
While there’s no guarantee that Bruni will actually be at the festival, an appearance on its red carpet would be an amazing (and over the top) way to celebrate her first foray into film. Can you imagine her coming up the steps at the Palais des Festivals, clad in some awe-inspiring piece of Dior Couture, flashbulbs popping off everywhere? We’re so excited about this we’re actually a little scared.
But even if Bruni doesn’t attend the premiere, we’re sure we won’t be disappointed with the red carpet duds of the movies other stars, which include Rachel McAdams and Marion Cotillard. The movie itself is a romantic comedy about a family (we’re guessing American) traveling to Paris on business. A young couple that’s part of this group (again, we’re guessing McAdams and Wilson) are “forced to confront the illusion that a life different from their own is better,” according to the film’s IMDb page. Bruni’s role in the film is small, but (and again, we’re guessing here) we’ll bet it’s just great.
The film debuts at the festival this May.
