It’s the birth we’ve all been waiting for! (Not counting Pregnancé, of course.) Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has reportedly gone into labor.
The details are scarce, but according to The Australian (random, we know), pétit bébé Bruni is going to be here any day.
French president Nicolas Sarkozy has an uncanny knack of stealing the limelight. Yesterday he managed it again, when rumours that his wife was about to go into labour swept the country as his Socialist rivals staged their first ever US-style primary.
…police warned motorists that their cars would be towed away if they parked around the exclusive Clinique de la Muette in Paris, where Ms Bruni is expected to give birth any day.
Clinique de La Muette, where the former justice minister Rachida Dati had her own daughter Zohra two years ago, denied that a whole floor had been booked and cordoned off to ensure Carla’s privacy, implicitly confirming the rest of the reports – that a couple of €250-a-night “ordinary rooms” on either side of Ms Bruni-Sarkozy’s modest suite will be occupied by security officers.
Bruni’s due date was apparently last Tuesday, October 7, though accurate birth date predictions are generally rare.
We’ll keep updating this space with news as we have it, so check back for more details!
