If it had been for anything but the Carrie premiere, we would have been disappointed by Chloë Grace Moretz’s Valentino gown on the red carpet. Of course, it’s beautiful, but at 16-years-old, the dress’ conservative silhouette, forest green hue, and dandelion print walks a fine line between vintage-inspired and matronly. And perhaps it’s a symptom of this time of year, but we’re getting some distinct Halloween vibes from the getup, which might even be Moretz’s clever nod to Stephen King’s frightening tale.
Spooky story or not, we think that Moretz should have chosen something more youthful and striking as Carrie’s star. In fact, Moretz could have taken a page out of Julianne Moore’s book because the seasoned actress looked devastatingly chic, not to mention ageless, in her white draped Givenchy number.
