Burton’s spring collection for Alexander McQueen was jaw-droppingly gorgeous, so this Nowness video is worth watching just for the dreamy shots of the dreamy fabrics. But then there’s the dialogue between the designer and the critic. These women are talented and smart and just plain awesome — we could listen to them talk about fashion and writing (and other things!) for hours. Need proof that Horyn rules? Here is her career advice:

“I tell the young people that you can be a really good reporter. Paris is a small world. You dont need to go to the shows, per se — you can see them online. But start talking to people, and find out what’s going on in the houses, and be a really good Bob Woodward of the fashion world. And they wonder, ‘Well, what if I dont get invited to the show?’ And I’m like, ‘It’s not about that.’ You want to be able to have information that nobody else has. Those are reporting skills.”

PREACH.
