PHOTOS: The Celeste And Jesse Forever Red Carpet Was All Kinds Of Bad

Celeste and Jesse Forever, a movie about a divorced couple trying to maintain their friendship while dating other people, premiered last night in New York. We love the idea of the film, but the red carpet at the event was a totally different story. It was a pretty poor showing, and sadly, we can’t find many nice things to say about it.

The good: Rashida Jones stood out from the pack in a playful printed dress by Thakoon. While the look as a whole was not a bona fide home run (the accessories were a bit of a cop-out if you ask us), she looked cute and comfortable, the dress was flattering, and the look didn’t take itself too seriously. The bold red lip color was a great choice, as was the updo. Nicely done!

The bad: We’re pretty sure that Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet is wearing a matching top and wide-legged pants combo, and we have to say, that’s a whole lot of print. However, the top alone is cute and figure-flattering; it has potential, we just wish that she would’ve paired it with something other than those pants, because it ended up looking a little over the top. Abby Elliott had the opposite problem — she looked like she made zero effort, picked a dress and shoes that didn’t go, and threw a jacket over it in the hopes of saving what was a poor excuse for a red carpet look to begin with.

The ugly: Le Call apparently didn’t get the memo that she was going to a movie premiere, not to hang out at the mall with her friends… in 2003. That midriff. Those ripped shorts. Those boots. Seriously, this is all bad. It’s not just inappropriate for the occasion, it shows a complete lack of taste.
