Caffeine in Women’s Underwear Doesn’t Destroy Cellulite

We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but honestly, did you really think that getting rid of cellulite could be as easy as putting caffeine in your underthings? But if you did, don’t worry, because we’re just as well-versed in the art of wishful thinking — and apparently, not alone.

Two women, who believe it or not are New Yorkers, bought into the caffeine myth enough to purchase Maidenform’s ‘shapewear’ inserted with tiny caffeine capsules ‘to promote far destruction.’ In a not-so-shocking turn of events, the underwear didn’t destroy cellulite as advertised, and now the women are filing complaints against Maidenform with the Brooklyn Federal Court.

According to the New York Daily News, Maidenform has yet to comment on the allegations. While you may be quick to blame the gullible shoppers, there is a method to their madness. Sketchers is paying up a cool $40 million for its Shape-ups “toning” customers to split for their similarly bogus claim.
