To Broadcast The Entire CFDA Awards Ceremony

This summer’s CFDA Awards will be broadcast on for the first time ever. The only problem? It’ll be online a day after the event, on June 5.

We think it’s cool that we’ll be able to see the entire award ceremony! (It’ll be heavily edited, but still cool!) But we also think it’s incredibly silly. We’ll have already covered the red carpet from every angle and listed all the winners before seeing the show. So really, what’s the point here?

If you recall, the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala was livestreamed, and it was awful. Terrible interviews and screaming photographers made the entire thing hard to watch. But livestreaming a red carpet and livestreaming a produced event are two entirely different ballgames, and we think the CFDA Awards would be a pleasure to watch in real time.

What do you think? Will you be tuning in?
