WATCH: Charlize Theron Pretends To Be A Model In New J’Adore Dior Spot

Dior has been teasing us with clips of a new Charlize Theron commercial for its fragrance J’Adore Dior for what seems like ages, and now the long-awaited real thing is finally here. The new commercial combines elements of the last ad with pieces of Dior history to make something singularly fresh.

Theron plays a model who is (surprise!) late for a fashion show. She runs up the stairs at the Palace of Versailles (where the show is being staged, of course), slips out of her Dior jacket and jeans and into a gold dress. She’s accompanied backstage by beauties of time gone by like Marlene Dietrich and Marilyn Monroe, who you can hear saying “Dior … J’Adore.”

Then, Theron rushes out onto the catwalk as the first look and says “J’Adore … Dior,” too, and everybody applauds. BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS AT FASHION SHOWS.

Ahem. Take a look at the new ad below, and let us know what you think. (You can also check out Natalie Portman‘s ad for Miss Dior Cherie here.)

And, just so you know what the last one looked like, we’ve included the 2004 version of the commercial, too.
