Chloë Grace Moretz spilled to Glamour that designers won’t lend her clothes until she turns 20, and appeared sympathetic to their claims that customers don’t want to see a $50,000 gown on a 16-year-old. But the suit she wore to the photocall of her new film Kick-Ass 2 this morning suggests she might have taken the offense to heart.
Whether this outfit has the effect of convincing designers that Chloë is actually 25, we’ll have to wait and see. We, at least, are having trouble reconciling the suit with the fact that she was born in 1997. And while it’s definitely a Kick-Ass combo, we would have loved to see her in something a bit sunnier. Dressing like you still play video games doesn’t mean you can’t style-shame your seniors.
The Glamour shoot itself is further evidence of the star’s ability to defy decades. Dolled up in ‘40s throwback gowns and lensed by Patrick Demarchelier, she definitely doesn’t look like someone who’d make us second-guess spending $50,000 on a dress. If we had the cash, that is.

this is some kind of spaceship or something.
