Right on the heels of Tory Burch‘s WWD profile, Chris Burch has taken to CBS This Morning to discuss C. Wonder and his ex-wife.
First Chris explained the difference between his brand and Tory’s brand to Gayle King and Erica Hill:
“It certainly doesn’t look like Tory’s brand. It’s the association of the name that gives some people that indication. I think the aesthetic is the same. I mean, Tory is amazing. She grew up outside Philadelphia, I did. It’s a very classic area. But Tory has a much more stylized point of view. We’re more about happy, fun, whimsical…Tory is serious, serious fashion.”
He also fielded questions about his relationship with Tory Burch the company and Tory Burch the person. While he discussed the board and his status as a majority shareholder, there was no mention of him leaving the board or the purported selling of his shares:
“Tory and I are the majority shareholders of the company. We built the company together, we founded it together. Tory used my experience in the back and my experience in fashion and production and sourcing, and she created a lot of the styles, a lot of the fashion.”
Other things of note: he’s in the process of launching nine new brands and he credits his ADD to his success.
