If you didn’t watch Oprah‘s Legends of the Runway episode last week, you’re fired. (To be fair, we warned you.) But if you did, you already know that supermodel Christie Brinkley will be making her Broadway debut in Chicago this spring.
The 57-year-old model will appear in the show as Roxie Hart, the aspiring jazz singer charged with murdering her lover. Brinkley has been tapped to play the role for 11 weeks, from April 4 to June 19. The show, which has been running for 15 years, is staged at New York’s Ambassador Theater on 49th Street.
The Associated Press reports that Brinkley isn’t the first model who’s played the role on Broadway. Brooke Shields was the merry murderess in 2005, but most of the other women who have played the role have been professional actors, dancers or singers — and sometimes, all three. But let’s not forget, Brinkley has done her share of acting — she starred alongside Chevy Chase in the National Lampoon’s Vacation movies, and appeared on Mad About You.
