Supermodel Cindy Crawford Wants Her 10-Year-Old Daughter To Stop Modeling

Cindy Crawford‘s daughter’s stint as a model for Young Versace will be her last — for now. Mama Crawford says her little girl, Kaia Gerber, is going to have to wait until she’s older if she wants to actually do work as a model.

Crawford told the good people at Daily Front Row that while Kaia had done modeling in the past, she’d always been snapped standing (or posing) next to her mother. She wanted her to have a taste for what it would be like posing on her own at least once, but Crawford isn’t about to let her turn into another Thylane Blondeau.

At this point, she’s too young to pursue a career. There aren’t even a handful of jobs for a 10-year-old girl. But if she’s 17 and wants to try it…of course, what can I say? She’s really into singing and acting. She kind of jokingly said—I’m not even sure if it was jokingly—‘I might model first because you don’t have to know how to do anything, but then I want to be a baby nurse.’

Neonatal care might not be glamorous, but it is an extremely important field. We’re glad she has the opportunity to test out a lot of different career paths — here’s hoping she won’t rush into a career that doesn’t fulfill her.
