@CondeElevator, Conde Nast’s Most Successful Tweeter, Shuts Down

After less than a week online and only 35 tweets, the account @CondeElevator announced Thursday morning that it will stop tweeting out the hilarious and slightly out-of-touch things overheard in the elevators of the Conde Nast building.

The account, which had over accrued over 56,000 followers by the time it shut itself down Thursday morning, had more followers (and got them a lot quicker) than some Conde Nast Publications Twitter accounts. Details has less than half the followers at 20,391, and Allure has only slightly less at 55,263. Meanwhile, Golf World (yes, Conde Nast publishes Golf World) only has 2,789.

We’ve entertained a variety of theories about the genius who started this account, but whoever they are, they must have been feeling some pressure to stop tweeting. The very last message from the account says “Love my job. Better stop.”

We, however, are still pretty curious to know who was behind the account, so if you have any information, let us know in the comments or leave us an anonymous tip.
