Sure, awards were given out at the Broadcast Television Journalists Association‘s Critics’ Choice Awards in California last night. But really, the most important accolades are the ones we’re giving out for being best (and worst) dressed on the red carpet.
We’ll start with the nominees for best dressed. Julianne Moore wore a Jason Wu dress that fit her like a glove, and the black-and-white color combo is classic. But doesn’t it remind you of Stella McCartney‘s “miracle” dress? Ginnifer Goodwin chose a Viktor & Rolf design that would’ve looked better sans the mesh insert, but we liked the striped number nonetheless. Zooey Deschanel opted for a floral Oscar de la Renta frock, which was cute and matched the actress’s adorkable shtick, and was also reminiscent of Emma Stone‘s Lanvin dress from the Met Gala. Cat Deeley looked stunning in a nude Grecian-style gown. The look wasn’t super exciting, but it was lovely and ethereal. Regina King was also smokin’ in a one-shouldered dress with lace overlay. The actress worked the bold red hue, flattering cut, and metallic accessories. The best part about the outfit was the fitted (read: not overly tight) bodice — no squished boobs here!
And now the nominees for worst dressed are Christina Hendricks for covering her bodacious curves in yards of fabric (flaunt ‘em, girl!), Emily Deschanel for her mumsy number, and Emmy Rossum for her gold Donna Karan dress that looked like a sad leftover from the Oscars.
Okay, your turn. Take a peek at the gallery below, and tell us who you think won (and lost):
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
