Crystal Renn has starred in her fair share of quirky magazine editorials, but this one for Vogue Nippon sort of hits the whole concept of magazine editorials squarely in the nose. That’s because in it, in each shot, Renn wears exactly one brand, denoted by a supersized version of that brand’s logo made into a hat on top of her head.
The shoot was styled by none other than supersized hat and fashion brand fanatic Anna Dello Russo. We don’t think we’ve ever appreciated her sense of humor so much as we do after looking at these photos. By branding each shot, she’s sort of acknowledging that most editorials (this one included) are advertisements. It’s a dig at her own profession, and we love that she can laugh at herself like this. We’re laughing right along with her.
