Daphne Guinness is as fascinating as she is fashionable, so it’s always fun to hear what she has to say about her life and style. Brennan Stasiewicz filmed her in her apartment and during her Barneys Met Gala performance for Nowness, and there are as many shots of beautiful clothing as there are insights into the unconventional world of the eccentric icon. Of course, Guinness doesn’t think of herself as such.
“I don’t think about myself in the world. Me is nothing. I’m just someone that’s living in 2011. I just am what I am, and then when people label me eccentric or different, I’m kind of astonished because I think “this is completely normal, this is just how I am, this how I’ve always been. That’s why I gravitated toward people who were as shy as I was, and we all sort of huddled together, like on a raft.”
