It wasn’t too long ago that Daphne Guinness exhibited her designs in a funeral-themed jewelry show. But now we’ll get a chance to see more than just her $1.76 million diamond-encrusted glove. An eclectic collection of all things Daphne-related will go on display this September at FIT.
The exhibit will feature over 100 pieces of Guiness’s one-of-a-kind collection, including works by Valentino, Tom Ford, Chanel, Givenchy, and Dior, among others. Some of Daphne’s own designs will also be on display as well as some of her Rick Owens-designed workout clothes.
Guiness co-currated the exhibit and cited her apartment as the show’s design inspiration. It also features some of the short films Guinness has starred in as well as photos of the heiress. There’s really no one who has had the same experience in or access to the fashion world as Guinness: The beer heiress has been shot by some of the most acclaimed photographers and worn some of the most iconic pieces. She is an important collector of fashion, as well as an icon who has played muse to legendary designers.
A quarter of the exhibit will be dedicated to never-before-displayed frocks and shoes by Guinness’s close friend, the late Alexander McQueen. Also to be featured: Daphne’s Philip Treacy hat collection and custom made Louboutins.
Below are a few pieces of Daphne’s collection, which will go on display in the Museum at FIT on September 16th.
