If David Beckham thinks for a second that after months and months of talking about his new underwear collection for H&M that we’re going to believe he was actually embarrassed to watch the commercial for it during the Super Bowl, he’s got another thing coming.
Beckham, who’s had photographs of his dishabille published ad infinitum over the past few years, went on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show yesterday and said he got a little uncomfortable watching the actual ad on television.
“I’m very shy. When we were watching the Super Bowl yesterday in a room of about 20 people and it came on and I actually didn’t know where to look. It was kind of embarrassing.
“The kids loved it but they were also embarrassed as well because there was other people in the room.”
We get that Beckham was all sorts of naked in the ad, and that kind of thing can be uncomfortable when other people are looking at your nakedness and you’re there to witness it. But the dude has more or less made a career from taking his clothes off and allowing clothing companies to photograph it (see Armani underwear campaign), so we don’t see what gives here. After literally years of him being naked in front of people, we just don’t buy that the best-known underwear model since Marky Mark is shy about people seeing his skivvies.
And in case you didn’t see the commercial we’re talking about, we highly suggest you do so here.
