Dating can be weird and uncomfortable, no matter who you are. Which is why superstar designer Diane von Furstenberg is traveling to spread the message that all you really need to have fun on a date is confidence — and the right outfit.
Von Furstenberg has partnered with Match.com on a three-city tour, on which she’ll give members of the dating site tips on how to make it through a first date without breaking a sweat. The designer will host seminars in New York City, Dallas and Miami, where she’ll take audiences through three popular first date scenarios: coffee, dinner or drinks. She’ll also be preaching the gospel of, well, not smelling badly by using her new fragrance Diane as a confidence-boosting element in the presentations. (Product promotion tie-in? You bet your ass.)
As an added bonus, she’ll also be styling outfits for each occasion, all of which we have to assume are based on her philosophy that women are more powerful when they feel good about what they’re wearing. The designer says:
“Dating is really all about confidence,” says Von Furstenberg. “It is about dressing in a way that makes you feel comfortable and beautiful. Match.com and I wanted to do something fun to encourage women to be themselves and to go for it!”
