As New Yorkers, we’re pretty unapologetic about the fact that we don’t envy too much about L.A. However, there are two glamorous things we wish called NYC home: Dita Von Teese and the Chateau Marmont. For Rachel Pally’s exclusive Fall 2013 celebration dinner, the Hollywood institution and burlesque queen were brought together and we’re kind of upset we weren’t there to bask in the Old Hollywood glory.
What we are able to observe, is that Teese was at the helm of a serious black maxi gown trend, which seems to have struck down on the Pacific Coast. She wore a long-sleeved design from Rachel Pally’s Fall 2013 collection and although there was generous proportion, she stuck to her own style protocol by accentuating her nanoscale waist with a belt. And while the no-frills ensemble is not quite as striking as her ubiquitous Jenny Packham moments, we certainly wouldn’t want to follow her act as Pally herself and Michelle Trachtenberg did in similar monochrome maxis. With her signature blue-black hair curled impeccably, crimson lips, and unmatched proportions, Dita always wins. View her look below, and decide for yourself how the other gals stack up to the Von Follies siren.
