Last night, DKNY unveiled a video collaboration with fashion photographer Enrique Badulescu at New York City’s The Hole Gallery for its newest fragrance, Be Delicious Intense. As much as we raise our eyebrows at fragrance marketing, we’ve gotta say the
video “multi-sensorial experience” is kind of cool.
The scent is intended to evoke memories associated with it, and in the vid, a naked woman smells Intense and is immediately taken back to an intimate moment with her equally-naked beau. We had to watch the video a few times before we completely understood it (we’d had a drink or two), but thankfully there were multiple screens inside the venue on which to watch, which meant we were able to make it seem like we were mingling instead of looking awkwardly rooted in one spot for five minutes.
“Fashion Week was busy, but I didn’t even do that many shows,” she said. “I only did a couple, but it’s all the parties and everything. That was exhausting. Afterward, I just hung out with friends and relaxed. I got 12 hours of sleep the night after the shows ended. That’s rare, I guess I needed to catch up on it.”
One of our most exciting moments was speaking with Ryan Lochte at the Rebecca Minkoff show, in which Rhoda walked. But she told us that strutting her stuff in front of him wasn’t as nerve-wracking as we’d imagined: “He was also at Ralph Lauren, which I walked too. I mean, it’s cool that he’s got other interested than sports. He seems like a well-rounded guy. I feel like there’s always someone big in the front row. In Paris, when I used to do the shows, there’d be people like Catherine Deneuve — that was awesome.”
Of course, we also had to ask about her favorite fragrance: “I wear a lot of Estée Lauder. I’m a spokesperson for Estée, so I have all their fragrances. I wear Private Collection, and then Bronze Goddess in the summer.”
You’ll have to wait for our crowd-sourced review of the fragrance, but in the meantime, check out the Be Delicious Intense video and some well-dressed guests below:
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
