There’s so many events pegged to this year’s New York Fashion Week that it’s hard to keep track!
And never one to be left out of the popular crowd, Elle has decided to join in on the fun too. On September 9th, one day before Fashion’s Night Out, Elle will fill the David Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for a fashion show of their own.
Elle editors have selected 22 promising design students from the Rhode Island School of Design to walk their collections down a runway and be judged by a Project Runway-like panel. Elle editors Joe Zee, Anne Slowey and Alexis Bryan Morgan and designers Tommy Hilfiger, Derek Lam, Nicole Miller, and Kate Spade, among others, will offer constructive criticism to these up and comers.
The winner will received the ELLE & RISD Design Award and a $25,000 grant. And if there’s one thing ELLE knows how to do well, it’s multimedia. Elle is also creating an online web series showing each contestant’s experience preparing for the competition, just so you can get a behind-the-scenes look at what’s going on.
