PHOTOS: Emily Blunt’s Dress Makes Us Wish We Had A Prom To Go To

Prom season is nearing its end, but alas, we still have yet to be asked. That may have something to do with the fact that we’re, oh, a few years past the age of curfews, corsages, and tuxedo-clad teenagers, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a part of us that wishes we had a limo to hop into to take us to a high school gymnasium glamorous venue once again.

Emily Blunt didn’t help matters with her look last night at the “Freeing Voices, Changing Lives” gala: a Zac Posen number that managed to be both sweet and sophisticated, with the kind of full tulle skirt that can’t help but remind us of prom.

The midnight blue strapless dress featured a sweetheart neckline, detailed, structured bodice, and chaperone-friendly tea-length hem. To keep it from veering too far into the ’50s, Blunt paired it with strappy Brian Atwood stilettos and Inge Christopher’s snakeskin Antigua minaudière. Suffice it to say, this is one look we only wish we could have gotten our hands on at 17.

Take a look below, and for a peek at some actual prom getups, check out the Obamas’ old photos and Lindsey Wixson’s custom Jason Wu number:
