PHOTOS: Emma Watson Thinks Fashion Is ‘Savage & Cruel’

We can’t wait to see Emma Watson in the last installment of the Harry Potter saga (we obviously have tickets to a midnight showing), but her latest glossy cover has us almost as excited.

Watson got the Vogue treatment for July, and she’s also Harper’s Bazaar UK‘s August cover girl. There’s a whole good girl/bad girl theme going on, from the Alexi Lubomirski-shot covers (a light-haired angelic Watson fronts the newsstand cover, while a dark-haired saucy Watson fronts the subscriber version) to the inside editorial spread.

Oh, and the things she has to say! For starters, she’s wary of Hollywood:

LA scares the crap out of me. I feel if I have to work out four hours a day, and count the calories of everything I put in my mouth, and have Botox at 22, and obsess about how I look the whole time, I will go mad. I will absolutely lose it.

We feel ya, Em! She’s also wary of the fashion world:

It can be savage and cruel, in that it’s prescriptive — you have to look a certain way and fit a certain mold — but also in the way it’s made.

Allow her to elaborate on that:

When I went out to Bangladesh, to a factory where the clothes are made [for mass-market labels], it was horrifying. There is a cost to cheap clothes — if people could see the inhumane way they’re made, they would never in a million years buy them.
