Is it wrong that we can’t tell whether or not this is real? Allegedly, a Japanese photographer and cat lover named Takako Iwasa took pictures of her two best feline friends wearing everything from bonnets to bunny ears to wedding veils. The result? The new photo book Fashion Cats, which seems to prove only that cats do not belong in clothes.
They may not be wearing Dior or Ferragamo, but we don’t think Princess Prin or Prince Kotaro (yes, those are their names) would look any happier putting clothes on their backs if they were wearing Chanel couture. We also don’t think this is a real thing. First of all, it’s presented by Vice Magazine, and we don’t really believe Vice would go out of its way to promote what is essentially an attempt to take advantage of the waning importance of LOL cats. Or … would it?
In the book, Takako bedecks her soul-cat-mates in over sixty purrfect outfits and introduces readers to the two multidimensional felines, who have much to say about their profession as cat supermodels. The delightful spreads include photographs of Prin and Kotaro professionally posing for the camera in everything from tulle wedding veils to Anne of Green Gables wigs.
Somewhere in Canadian heaven, Lucy Maud Montgomery is hanging her head in shame. Check out the video below, and tell us if you think this is an actual thing.
