It’s been a bleak week for red carpet style, save for Maria Sharapova’s J. Mendel and Jessica Paré’s Prabal Gurung ensembles, but the bad turned to worst last night. Most of the looks were just not stylish, but three in particular were downright offensive to our eyes: Emmy Rossum, Flo Rida, and event producer Susanne Bartsch.
Rossum’s Tory Burch dress is, by definition, pretty, but it didn’t do the girl any sartorial favors in Beverly Hills, California last night. The tea-length is too long to be flattering on Rossum (or anyone else, for that matter), the hair doesn’t really go with the outfit’s vibe, and the gold shoes are too matchy-matchy.
Flo Rida’s outfit, on the other hand, kind of made up for Rossum’s boring ensemble — though that’s not a good thing either. He attended a Samsung event in New York City wearing a black varsity jacket with multi-colored sleeves. Points for having such swagger, but does anyone else think that the jacket looks like the one you get from the airbrushing stand on the boardwalk in New Jersey?
Lastly, Bartsch’s get-up at an after-party for Broadway’s “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” in New York — man, where do we start? Let’s just say it was a hot mess, and our only explanation is that she didn’t have time to change from a previous even — halloween.
See those looks and more in the gallery below, and then catch a video of one of Rossum’s better red carpet outfits to make it all go away:
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
