Models walking on water? Sounds like something that could only happen at a Chanel show. But a floating catwalk on a giant glass boat cruising the River Seine was not the brainchild of Karl Lagerfeld — and we imagine the Kaiser isn’t too happy that he didn’t think of it first.
The mastermind behind this new approach to a runway show is Jessica Minh Anh, the director of J Model Management, who didn’t want to conform to traditional ideas of a catwalk. And seriously, there is nothing run-of-the-mill about sipping champagne on a yacht named Le Jean Bruel, while admiring Haute Couture and sweeping views of the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre as a moving backdrop. Mark these words: fashion is definitely going to be having more of these I’m On a Boat moments (hopefully with T-Pain there, too).
