This week we’ve been asking important people what they think about Marc Jacobs at Dior. Jacobs is rumored to be demanding a whole lot of cash, but everyonehinks he’s the right choice for the job. Everyone, that is, except for Franca Sozzani.
In an interview with the Daily Beast, Sozzani had this to say:
“Hire back John Galliano. Look, I understand their point of view. I understand they couldn’t just say, ‘Bad boy! We forgive you! Come back!’ But it’s really a pity. And I will never believe he believed what he said. I think he was drunk and alone in a bar. When people go crazy, they go crazy. It’s a human case, it’s not political or religious. He didn’t kill anyone!”
Of course. We’re totally not surprised Sozzani holds this opinion — she’s been on Galliano’s side since day one. However, as the Daily Beast noes, this is a somewhat dangerous thing to say given how heavily Vogue Italia relies on LVMH ad dollars. That said, something tells us Sozzani doesn’t really care about that.
