There’s been plenty of speculation surrounding Amy Winehouse’s clothing line for Fred Perry, and the brand has just announced it will continue carrying merchandise from the collaboration for the next two seasons.
The singer’s retro-inspired designs will appear in stores for fall 2011 and spring 2012, signaling the completion of a four-season partnership that began in October of last year. “Amy was passionate and dedicated to the collaboration, and her signature style is clearly stamped across each piece,” a Fred Perry representative said in a statement Monday.
As a tribute to the singer, the profits Winehouse would have received from the sales will be given to her soon-to-be established foundation, along with a seasonal donation from Fred Perry. The decision to release the collection was reached after meeting with the singer’s family. Explained her father, Mitch:
“When Fred Perry came to ask what we would like to do with the new collection it was natural to continue. Amy loved working on both collections, and would want them to be made available.”
As in previous seasons, Winehouse’s clothes will be available in Fred Perry Authentic boutiques, as well as through wholesalers worldwide.
