The holiday season is officially upon us, and Barneys knows just where you want to shop: Gaga’s Workshop.
Lady Gaga’s long-awaited collaboration with the department store was unveiled in the grandest of fashions yesterday. An inflatable Gaga head and claw roamed New York City, along with colorful acrobats and carolers who ultimately ended up at Barneys’ Madison Avenue flagship. It was there that Gaga was on hand to cut the ribbon along with many of her fashionable friends.
Blake Lively chatted up her Gossip Girl stepdad Matthew Settle in a blue cleavage-baring suit, while Prabal Gurung and Nicola Formichetti browsed the store together, shopping baskets in hand. Lynn Yaeger, Brad Goreski, and Christian Siriano were also in attendance, as was a curiously dressed Bryan Boy (sports ball-printed footie pajamas and a Big Bird coat do not an outfit make). Gaga was every bit the belle of the ball in custom Chanel, and she spoke to WWD about the project:
“We tried to bridge the spirit of Madison Avenue with the spirit of downtown New York pop punk culture and create a space that had a range of prices — some very affordable gifts and some gifts that were more expensive. Yes, I have fun fashion ideas and have a knack for trinkets, but the truth is if the love of the fans didn’t mean something powerful from a cultural standpoint, coming to Barneys to buy Gaga presents wouldn’t mean anything. They wanted to come here for an experience that they could enjoy together.”
Gaga’s Workshop is open through Jan. 2, and 25 percent of the sales will go to the Born This Way Foundation. Check out the photos below to get a true taste of all the Gaga cheer:
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
