Geri Halliwell‘s latest collection for Next draws inspiration from her most famous getup of all time: that iconic Union Jack dress.
Halliwell wore the itsy bitsy minidress (that her sister made from a tea towel!) to perform with the Spice Girls at 1997’s BRIT Awards. The artist formerly known as Ginger Spice then sold it at an auction the next year for about $65,000. Roberto Cavalli recreated a Swarovski-encrusted version of the dress for the Spice Girls’ 2007 reunion tour, and now Halliwell is bringing the dress back yet again. She explains:
“The Union Jack dress was my favorite stage outfit, and with everything that is happening this year such as the Olympics and the Jubilee it just felt the right time to design an updated version of the dress for my range with Next.”
Ugh, we’re such suckers for ’90s nostalgia. The dress will retail for $315 beginning in March, and the collection includes other Union Jack pieces as well.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
BONUS! Karaoke the hell out of this, okay?
