With less than a week to go ’till the second season of Girls premieres on HBO, Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and Zosia Mamet sat down with Savannah Guthrie on the Today Show this morning.
Guthrie goes through the milestone moments we’ve seen on the series so far (accidental crack smoking, surprise wedding, workplace groping, etc.) and asks Dunham what’s in store for us in the sophomore season. As you could probably predict, there will be plenty of plot points that “push the envelope,” although Today did manage to find at least one anodyne preview clip of Marnie and Hannah talking about no longer being roommates.
Not that Lena would likely object to their screening one of her sans-clothing (as is commonly the case on the show itself). When Williams calls her “the bravest person I know,” Lena interjects: “I always think it’s brave to, like, step into the mouth of a lion or to save a baby, but it’s not that brave to get naked if you’re not stressed about getting naked.”
