You might remember the sculptural white stilettos Kanye West designed in collaboration with Giuseppe Zanotti last year, inspired by the Cruel Summer album artwork. The shoes, described as an “all-white sculpture with curvy, slinky lines culminating in a crescendo of ‘freezing flames,” were, believe it or not, pared back to the ones Ye pimped out with beads and a $5,583 price tag in 2012. Though as you can imagine, both pairs sold right the fuck out.
But if you’re looking for something more *subtle* to pair with your $120 plain white hip-hop tee, there are these new Cruel Summer flats designed in celebration of Giuseppe’s 20th anniversary. This pair is part of a capsule collection of six pairs of golden sandals, and though not actually designed by Kanye, most certainly inspired by him. And by sex:
“I was having dinner with Kanye on a warm summer evening when we decided to collaborate on his first collection,” Zanotti recalls. “It was an unforgettable evening, with amazing company and energizing ideas. I need music for inspiration, for life. These sandals are inspired by the muse of music, by glamor and pure sex appeal.”
Ye’s barber and creative consultant, Ibn Jasper, Instagrammed the #worldsmosttalkedaboutsandals over the weekend with the caption, “YEEZi x Giuseppe Cruel Summer flats.” We would have gone with #YeezusSandals but anyway:
If you’re in the market for some sex-inspired Roman sandals, you can buy these ones for a cool $1,695 here.
