GQ just debuted its list of “The 100 Sexiest Women of the Millennium”, which is topped, of course, by February cover star Beyoncé and features the usual suspects like Megan Fox, Kate Upton, and Christina Hendricks. Also included is the category, “This Year’s Hot Chinese Chick” (the honor of which went to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’s Zhang Ziyi). And there is more where that came from.
- “Hottest Indian Chick”: Freida Pinto
- “Hottest Pregnant Sri Lankan”: M.I.A
- “Hottest Italian Chick”: Monica Belluci
The women are sexy, yes, but we could’ve done without the ethnic-specific categories. It’s sad to think that GQ relegated each woman to their background — and reeks of tokenism. Also, why is Kim Kardashian not deemed “Hottest Armenian” or Mila Kunis “Hottest Ukrainian”?
We’d also like to note that “Zhang Ziyi”, as written in the GQ piece, should actually be written as “Ziyi Zhang” since “Zhang” is the actress’ last name.
