At the amfAR Gala in Cannes last week, Gwen Stefani auctioned off the gown she wore to the event. The lacy dress raised more than $125,000 for AIDS research, and we assume part of the reason why the bidding went so high is because Stefani designed it herself. Or did she?
Michael Angel claims the dress (which was also used in a L’Oreal shoot earlier that same day) was his own design. His proof? He’s worked with both Stefani and L’Oreal in the past, and the dress uses lace from his fall 2010 collection (we have a side-by-side below). In the following video, we see Stefani wearing the dress at a fitting with Angel. He is identified as a stylist, and Stefani is shown saying: “In choosing [a dress], we just said, ‘Let’s make one!'” Later in the clip an amfAR presenter introduces the singer, who she says is “wearing a creation of her own by LAMB.”
