The editor admitted to be in recovery mode from the previous evening, which is understandable given it was Fashion’s Night Out. (We’re still recovering, and it’s Sunday.) But Bowles certainly knows how to handle all of the Fashion Week madness. “I think two weeks on the beach in Greece is very fortifying,” he said of his recent vacation that served as show prep. Now, why didn’t we think to do that?!
And since Bowles knows his stuff, we were curious to see what was on his radar for the upcoming season:
“Well, there are so many! I’m always interested to see what the Mulleavy girls do, and Marc’s always so interesting and directional. And I think I’m interested to see Alexander and Joseph and that kind of generation, and then I always love Carolina and Oscar. I mean, I think there’s just so much in this city. There’s so much I’m looking forward to.”
Bowles knows how to kick it with non-fashion people too, as evidenced by his game of one-on-one with Amar’e Stoudemire. As for who he would like to hang out with next? “My god, there are so many people! Let’s start with Queen Elizabeth II.” Oh, man, yes. So many hats would be involved. But crazy shoes would not be, as they are the trend he would most like to kill. “I’m sick of the over-designed shoe,” he sighed. Alas, he declined to name the worst offenders: “That would be invidious!” Indeed.
