It’s a lot of pressure to be an On-Screen Mom. As the matriarch of the family, mom’s role among our favorite movie and TV families needs to be pretty solid. On-Screen Mom has to be kind and warm, like everyone wants mom to be. But she also needs to possess a little spunk. She is strong-willed yet also has a sense of humor. Oh, and she’s pretty.
On-Screen Mom is basically perfect, but there must be a scene in which she faces one (or more) of her own faults, meets great adversity, or admits (onscreen!) that she is not as perfect as everyone thinks she is, therefore humanizing On-Screen Mom. And we all hug her in our hearts and say, “That’s OK On-Screen Mom! We love you anyway. Now get back to loving on that on-screen family of yours!”
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in the world — you have a really tough job. We salute you today with a montage of our favorite on-screen mothers (the list could go on and on). Still in a pinch for Mother’s Day goodies? Check out these gifts that give back to other moms.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
