Last winter, London department store Harrods revealed an epic window display that featured Disney princess-inspired dresses that had been created by designers including Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, and Versace. Now this November, ten of the dresses will be auctioned off to support the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
There’s never been a more noble reason to dress up like a princess, and the designer gowns are without a doubt much less tacky than that Halloween costume you may have worn when you were 4 years old. In fact many of the dresses (aside, perhaps, from Snow White’s) are quite wearable.
It’s unlikely that any of us at Styleite will be able to afford the dresses, but if your passion for childhood nostalgia is coupled with a competitively fat wallet, then we wish you luck.
